EPOXY COATINGS

Sundek SunEpoxy Coating System | Epoxy Coatings Kansas City
The SunEpoxy Coating System offers options for low and high traffic areas as well as areas that may have higher levels of moisture transmission. The SunEpoxy system comes in a variety of colors and can be used with either colored quartz or vinyl chips. Custom logos and stencils can be added during the installation process.
In our area of the country, moisture transmission rates through concrete vary widely throughout the year. A heavily saturated slab this year may be a very dry and cracking slab next year. Moisture and ground pressure are the most unpredictable factors when finishing a concrete floor that is below grade (basements, garden level apartments, lower level office space.) The SuVapor system takes the guess work out of choosing a coating system. Proper concrete preparation (shot blasting and filling all cracks) ensures proper product penetration and adhesion. The SunVapor epoxy system utilizes the following stesp:
Epoxy Vapor Primer
100% Solids Vapor Epoxy
100% solids clear epoxy
This three step system reduces moisture transmission in even the most stubborn areas.
Each epoxy coating system is finished with a high performance urethane topcoat. This reduces ambering from UV lights, increases scratch resistance and adds a stain barrier to the epoxy.
Epoxy coating systems are ideal for finishing garage floors, laboratories, locker rooms, commercial kitchens, and restaurants. Contact Big Red Decorative Concrete—your epoxy coatings leader in the Kansas City area.

Sundek SunOne Polyaspartic Coating System

Polyaspartic Urethanes have been utilized for years in the industrial and commercial fields where a high level of chemical and abrasion resistance are required. This makes the system ideal for high traffic areas like auto repair, retail, warehouses and parking garages. The system is applied in 3-4 steps with multi-colored vinyl chips incorporated during the installation process. The full coverage of vinyl chips adds an additional layer of protection, slip resistance and brings the floor to life with a wide range of color options. A sampling can be found in the link below, but hundreds of other color combinations are available. Custom logos, sports team stencils, and company emblems can be applied during the installation process.
Care and maintenance require only a dry and wet microfiber mop. Heavy mop buckets and cleaning solutions are not necessary. The SunOne Polyaspartic Urethane System offers an antimicrobial surface with a high gloss finish. One of the many advantages of the Polyaspartic Urethane system is the very short installation and cure times. Traditional epoxy coating systems can take up to 7 days to fully cure. The SunOne system is completely cured and ready for use 24 hours after completion!
Uses for Polyaspartic urethane might be: garage floors, auto repair shops, sidewalks, pool decks (indoor and outdoor), driveways, recreation centers, locker rooms, and much more.

Sundek SunMetal Metallic Coating System

The newest trend in coating systems is metallic dust suspended within a heavy coat of 100% solids clear epoxy. The metallics range is color from vibrant yellows and greens to more subtle mocha and pearl colors. These can be layered and intermingled to create a fluid, almost motion filled floor. The process starts with a darker epoxy primer base and then a lighter metallic color combination applied over the dark base. For a lighter floor, a white or cream colored epoxy primer can be placed first followed by brighter metallic colors.
The wonderful things about the epoxy metallics is the uniqueness of each floor, the amount of movement or fluidity in the floor and the ability of this application to cover most flaws in a concrete floor. Old and new concrete can be blended into one seamless floor with this application; making it ideal for commercial remodel projects. A few of the many available colors can be seen below.
